Most of Lee 6 pro, Gianni 6 pro, Oliver HD megapack bundles for Poser won't load clothing correctly
I bought them all in one big chunk, using the DIM to handle zip's placement in my Runtime folder.
Serpentine monk seems to be the only one where the materials were placed in the correct subdirectory, or at least loads right.
Kung Fu outfit, Outpost mercenary, Yakuza outfit, and Oliver's thong all have the same problem, invisible load, materials room is blank.
I could screenshot Serpentine's working paths, but here it is in text:
Serpentine search results:
anklets.png, pants.png, top.png, armlets.png are in Installdir\Runtime\libraries\Materials\DAZ Genesis 2 Male\Clothing\Serpentine Monk
anklets.cr2, armlets.cr2, pants.cr2, top.cr2, anklets.duf, pants.duf, preview.png's are in Runtime\libraries\Character\DAZ Genesis 2 Male\Clothing\Serpentine Monk.
That one works.
Attached is Oliver's thong paths, the top 18 files are .cr6, I didn't capture all of them.
I don't know if DIM goofed it up, or what I need to do to get them working. Attached is the thong search (Library problem.jpg) in runtime as an example of where files were placed.

Those look right, if the My Content\Autofire\ folder is selected as an external library in Poser (I assume you are using Poser from your description). However, for the figures to load you will also need to have installed the DSON Core files (the DAZ Studio native files) to My Content\Autofire\
Yeah, I've got DSON installed, it's working great with the other content I've already gotten for all the generation 2 characters. And from what I can tell it's like the materials are the problem, the object loads (invisible), and when I go to materials room after trying to apply mats, it's all blank.
I'm using poser pro 2014, btw, if that helps clarify it.
Not the DSON Importer, the DSON core files for the item you want to import - the PoserCF files are just the Poser library files, not textures or the geometry.
Wouldn't the Daz Install Manager make sure everything downloaded correctly? I bought bundles of stuff, it had a steady queue of bundled product that I could tell, some went by so fast you couldn't tell what was what, but they all looked to have completed. Should I redownload them all again? DIM handles the core files I assume...
And it looks like the texture files downloaded, so could you ballpark what files is it I'm missing from the DIM install? I apologize if I sound a bit dense, I haven't used 3d much since I killed off my last poser PC 3 years ago, but I'd already had plenty of experience tracking down wonky locations zip and executables put important files, but I've zero experience with dson since I bought V6/M6 a few weeks ago. I thought I was doing well to get the prerequisites in place.
In this case, Oliver HD for M6 was the bundle, to make it simple, there's only 1 article of clothing for it, the thong. My previous screenshot showed what files got put where, so where are the others, where should they go, why didn't DIM install them, if we get those 3 things sorted out, I can probably fix the rest of my problems myself (knock wood).
Do you have a Data folder? if so where is it - it should be in My Content\Autofire\, alongside the Runtime folder.
Yes, data folder is there. Oh, I just bought some outfits for V6/M6 (school stuff) and same problem, some items show, V6 underwear for example, but others don't, not socks, shoes, or skirt. At that point I killed and relaunched to see if vanilla V6 might have more luck (no luck). They also had the doubled up icons in Characters toolbar.
I'm going to have to stop buying more stuff until I get this sorted, or I'll forget which ones had problems.
What's a specific example of something that's not working -- the product, the exact filename and path, and what happens when you try to load it?
The first example is Oliver HD's outfit, the thong. My previous posts show where the files for it were placed. If I doubleclick the object, Poser says it's there, but whether I try to apply the mats or not, it's invisible, materials room is blank, and cameras don't see it. I'd think the poser path settings were off, but it's only some products. And I don't know much about dson other than how to get it started and be able to import morphs once the working clothing/hair/etc loads.
What is the full path to OliverThong_1471.dsf?
Hmm. Not anywhere in autofire folder.
Instead of using the link from your order page to start the install manager, start it manually, type Oliver in the filter box at top-right and see if there are any uninstalled (or undownloaded) parts. If the Oliver files (as opposed to the PCF files) are listed as installed, click the triangle button next to the name on the right and from the menu click Show Installed Files - where were they put (look at the top of the list)?
The path to that thong is: /data/Fisty/Oliver/ThongHD/OliverThong_1471.dsf
You find the path if you open the Thong HD.duf file in an editor. Look if you find Fisty's folder under 'data'. The 'data' folder should be in the same folder as the 'auto_adapted' folder. This way Poser locates the 'data' files and can create their own files in the 'auto_adapted' folder if I understood correctly.
Ok, I did as you suggested. Attached are the screenshot of where DIM wants to put stuff vs. where it's told to. Then there's the DIM install log for oliver (not-CF) installed files, and finally a shot of the folder it's referencing. The Oliver folder seems to be missing, probably a lot more. It looks like at some point in time after pointing DIM to the autofire folder, it stopped installing some/any of the .dsf content, if I'm not mistaken. Could it be because the 32bit and 64 bit software installs are pointed to 1 directory higher? Although I searched my entire drive, I couldn't locate any of those morph files. I also noted I set DIM to auto so it would at least point to autofire, if had a default recommended of mydocs/my daz, which I didn't create.
I just added the screenshot in DIM showing that the dsf data was installed, and shows a checkmark. Oddly the Poser half doesn't have the checkmark. If there's any more info I can provide, I'll be glad to, I'd like to make this as painless as possible to get working.
The list of installed files is greyed out and in italics instead of being hyperlinks to the files, so the files aren't actually there as far as DIM can tell. Are the files actually there?
[strike]Well, that looks OK, the clothes at leasts hould load. I'm really not sure what could be wrong.[/strike]
Hmm, Mike's right - I hadn't noticed that. try uninstalling and reinstalling.
