which daz software version best for animating characters?

Hi everyone,

I started getting into DAZ in 2012. I think pro 4 just came out and genesis was new, I could be wrong. I began playing with the characters and genesis cane free with the software I believe. I was also using animate2 which was infuriating although had potential. I loved how easy the characters were to change their physical elements with a slider.

Anyway I gave up, mainly because animating was unstable. Then last year or maybe 2013 I downloaded the next version and I don't think the genesis was included? And what I did find wasnt the cool real looking character I wanted to play with.

So how it looking now? Which DAZ version should I download if I want genesis and to animate the character, walking etc. I used to animated in 3dmax and light wave in 07.

Thanks in advance!

Genesis still comes with DAZ Studio, but the content is now a separate zip file from the application. The content for DS4.7 is in the following zips:
    Genesis Starter Essentials
    Genesis 2 Female Starter Essentials
    Genesis 2 Male Starter Essentials
Default Lights and Shaders for DAZ Studio
    Scene Builder for DAZ Studio

Thanks for your response. Is the recent update recommended for animating and genesis characterisation? I remember when I downloaded pro when it came out that others recommended I used the previous version because it was better supported more tutorials etc and people were trying to figure it out.

I just need it to be simple (when you know what your doing that is)
