I've just bought PoseRecorder ( https://www.daz3d.com/poserecorder ) by esjaatin but I can't get it to save animations. When it runs it only saves a single PNG. That checkbox marked "single" is unchecked so that isn't the problem.

The videos are high quality, made with an ipad pro and then converted to MP4. 30 frames per second.

I've tried with several different videos, keeping my head very still, taking off my glasses, speaking very clearly, but the software will only save a PNG and then exits without warning. Any ideas?

Thanks for the link. I see there that someone succesfully saved a DUF file so that's a little bit encouraging.

I had success using Handbrake but not so much using videos of myself, it doesn't like my crooked mouth

Wow. I just handed my phone to the real Rosie and asked her to speak a line keeping her face fixed on the screen. Fantastic!!!

This gave an Excellent performance capture! Very cool!
