Render problems (blurry-ness, bad texture mapping)
I have several questions about this render. I'm using the V4Elite Lana mats mapped to a G2F figure using the V4toG2 UV mapping product from Daz. What's up with the thick, white lines on her neck, arms, legs, toes, and fingers? I'm assuming its an issue related to using a V4 skin on a G2 figure, but not positive. Also, is there a way to fix that?
Secondly, there's some noted blurry textures on her face and hair in particular. I have the camera's focal point set to be about even with her body and no DoF turned on. However, when I set the DoF, and keep her body within the f/Stop range, it's blurry just the same. I've been pulling my hair out trying to fix it, because these V4Elite textures look great, but because of these little issues, I can't get them anywhere close to the same quality.
For reference, I'm using:
Daz Studio 4.6
Reality 2.5
LuxRender 1.3.1
running on Windows 8.1
Any help would be appreciated!

What was used to render that image? 3Delight or Luxrender?
Whst UV set is actually being used on G2F? (somewhere on the Surfaces it should say what the 'active' UV set is)
LuxRender.
Active UV's for all surfaces on the figure are set to Victoria 4.
I use Luxus instead of Reality and don't have the V4 to G2F....so not sure how much more help.
But, I know Luxus has this feature, so I suppose Reality does, too...when exporting the textures you can 'shrink' them. Make sure you aren't reducing the hi res Elites down to a mid/lo res version...they are 4K or bigger...you may be dropping the to 2k or even 1024. It's something that Luxrender 'likes'...it reduces memory load.
That may also take care of the seams. But if not, check displacement. Luxrender and Studio are on vastly different scales (Lux is in meters, DS is in cm)...so a value of .1 in DS is a mm, while in Luxrender it's a cm. I thought that Reality was supposed to handle the scaling...but...
As to the hair...lots of playing around and test renders...as each hair is different and what works on one won't necessarily work on another one.
When you say "shrinking" does that just refer to displacement settings? I have no displacement maps or values entered for that, so could that be the cause? How much would I need to adjust them by? Would I need displacement maps for all the textures then? There aren't any with Lana.
Apologies if these are dumb questions. I'm not that familiar with how all this works just yet.
Look in the Reality settings for the texture conversions, but there should be a max texture size some where...I believe that the Elite textures are at least 4K x 4K...so when you export them, they shouldn't be 'crunched' to 1024 or 2K or whatever. That's one possible source of the seams.
There are bump maps...does Reality transfer those to displacement? I'd just make sure all bump/displacement is off at least until you get the blurriness taken care of.
These are the Reality settings. I don't see anything for adjusting texture conversions.
I do have the Bump Maps for Lana, of course. Are you supposed to set them as Displacement maps also?
Also, I'm testing other materials to try and solve this blurriness issue, and even the clothes in this render are blurry, which leads me to believe that it's not isolated to the specific textures. I can't find any other instances of this happening to anyone else, though, so I have no idea.
At this point I think we need to wait around for someone more familiar with Reality...
(you do know that sentence is really, really strange...)
