I loaded badbirdy from rendo in to daz and gave him feathers (Epic Wings and Show girl). He was cute when rendered. When I loaded him back into studio has feed were crushed and his head messed up.

What am I doing wrong?

Were you able to pose him originally? From the product description at Rendo it isn't clear if he uses P9+ weight-mapping.

I was able to pose him. He looked great. Then I saved him as a duf. When I reloaded him he was crushed. I think he uses something called an xmp file.

The .xmp file is just Poser metadata. I'm not sure why it would have worked originally, but not after saving a scene,

Can DS read the Poser metadata files?

    No, it ignores them.

Did you save just as a scene or scene subset, or properly as a Figure Asset? I've discovered some Poser stuff just can't be saved to create a true converted-to-D|S-format Figure Asset without a bit (or a lot) of rebuilding. Anything with geometry switching, for example, just plain won't work properly unless you save as a scene subset. Although I suspect you might not have the same glitch I came across; at least my test figure wasn't distorted.
