In the last picture, you selected the fluke, while you have selected the finn material.
Does the error also happen when you select finn in both Scene and Surface, and then apply the finn material?

Thank you, lee_lhs.
I just can not find any material for the fluke but "Tail finn material".
I see that there are also non-SS-Mats. Can you apply the Tail fin there, or doesn't it work for both versions? And did you make sure that you selected the surface in the surface tab? You didn't mention about it.

I have tried both version.
None works...
I did exactly as I did for "Mermaid Pectoral" and "Mermaid Tail"...
Okay... I have tested this with the regular mermaid materials, and it also doesn't work if you want to change from standar flukes to other colored flukes.
EDIT: Okay, I found out what caused my problem. When I selected the fluke in the image, it jumped to "Tail bone 19" in the scene tab. So even though the right surface was selected, it wouldn't apply the material.
When I manually changed to the fluke in the scene tab, it worked again.
So, I have no solution for your problem, it seems. Perhaps, it's best if you make a report to DAZ help?
