just noticed http://www.daz3d.com/subdragon-textures  comes with Carrara 6/3D Express Shaders

and is in the freebies picks heart

Very good catch!  This was unknown to me, as it does not show up when I search in the Daz website for Daz Original Carrara items.

However, I don't have the dragon. frown

I picked up some more carrara stuff today as well in the featured artists categories.  It was just too good of a price to pass up so I got a bundle of skies and water.  I also picked up the shaders someone mentioned above for free.

Been grabbing things like crazy... me. :)

Cart Tip:  If you accidently add too many free items you might notice that they all are no longer $ .0... the reason is that the "Day-#-Bonus" has been removed... I just move 1+ too many free item(s) to the wishlist and then just re-enter it and all is well in paradise.  Note it's always a good idea to refresh your cart before check out.

Hmmm... never tried it. Dragon 3 certainly is a lot more friendly for posing, having all of those nice pose dials for parameters.

Millennium Dragon 2 (and it's first edition predecessor) is a Classic! I've been hungry for it since it first came out, right around the time of the release of Dragon's A Fantasy Made Real (Full length Movie)

That was another thing that Rosie surprised me with. "Okay, I've put away enough for that Dragon thing you wanted" ;)

It has cool supplements like Hatchling, Dragonling, and the Dragon Folk add-on, turning it into a biped. Dragon 3 has all or most of this stuff built right into it - or did that come with its Morphs... I don't recall.

Anyways, I love Dragons. Always have. As much as I love the new Dragon 3, nothing can ever replace Millennium Dragon 2 for me! :)

    Thanks WGD John!

The tutorial sale includes some Carrara products.  I especially recommend PhilW's realism rendering.  In addition to tutorials, there are also some HDRIs that can be usd in Carrara.  Web page seems odd, though.  It says 65% off non-new tutorial with purchase of a new tutorial (great chance to get new PhilW's animation tutorial), but there are no prices listed next to the non-new as I write this.  Hmmm.  Maybe it will get cleared up shortly.

Ah. Now that I've actually checked the sale items, I see what you mean. It's not just that the sale prices don't appear, but also that the regular prices are struck out. ...And some of the items lower on the list show no price at all, sale or regular.

    Odd.

    X.

Frequently, these things have to be in the cart at the same time and are calculated only on checkout.

    X.

Check out Fast Grab.  I was able to get Animate2 in a bundle... there are also other GoFigure aniblocks there as well as some other deals.

    LOL!

i clicked your link and thought to myself... aww... too late :(

Then I de-checked the box: Hide Owned Content... Bam... there they all are! :D Guess I have them all!

I know there are a few I don't have - just not from that list ;)

From what I've read... animate2 comes with Studio now... I didn't need that expensive Bundle... just the aniBlocks.  Request in to Help Center to see what can be done, either pay for only aniBlocks or refund entire thing.  Still confused about that... I opened Studio 4.9 Beta, offline, and it was already registered.

Sorry for what is likely to be an ignorant question... but can you use TerraDome in Carrara?  Is is not possible because of Iray or something else as well? The Perilous Places looks intersting, but I don't have the main package yet.

I thought that it was included in the latest DS version but that you still needed to register it to activate it - I checked and I don't have it operational in my version.  I was tempted, but then I do so little in DS that I decided against it.

There's a thread in here about the older TerraDome being very cumbersome since it seems to be using Poser materials instead of texture maps, and the only way to apply them (easily from the product) are via Poser materials files which Carrara cannot read. EddyMi made that nice MC5 batch convertor, but these are MC6 and don't work with it. But I think they've been finding ways to use it. I grabbed it but would far rather just use Carrara instead for speed and lack of an aching head.

The newer TerraDome for Iray will not work at all in Carrara as it relies on a sophisticated set of Iray shader setups which only Daz Studio can decipher.

I wonder if that's because you own the Paid version? (and it was installed via DIM?)

Daz Studio does come with aniMate 2, but it's not the Full version we get when we buy it, which has the Baking tools among the other great needs that I have for the tool.

If they're now giving the full version, I wasn't aware of that. I won't be bummed though. Money to GoFigure is money well-spent in my opinion.

Edit to add: As much as I love the tool, I have to admit - I used it quite a lot a while back, and haven't touched it for a long time now. Still, I'm very glad that I own it. For creating custom aniBlocks, either by splicing my aniBlocks together, tweaking them, or baking them from the timeline, the real-time visual feedback is a beautiful thing. GoFigure's YouTube channel has excellent workflow tips too.

I thought I'd seen a thread in main Carrara discussion but can't find it today... might have overlooked it tho.

    Thanks, Dart, John and Andrew,

I tried to search, but even in quotes, more than two words just doesn't bring things up. Didn't Dart have a way to just search Carrara forum for stuff? Or am I hallucinating again?

That was when Forum Search was absent entirely. This new forum search is so useless it might just as well be absent though.

The old, old forum had a rather cool search tool. Too bad that forum couldn't handle the masses.

The old old forum was unfortunatley held together with duct tape, chewing gum and rubberbands, and things kept breaking.

Google search is the best way to find anything on the Daz 3d Forums,  type your search line and then add Daz 3d Froums to it, and see what comes up

Cool tip, Buddy! I'll have to try that!

Yeah, I remember it was falling apart with more and more frequency as time went on. Too bad.

Remember how the search tool worked? That was cool! We could select which part of the forums we wanted to search, and then had all of this other, specific criteria boxes we could check. It worked well, when it wasn't broken down.

    I was still pretty much a Noob back then. Actually, only seven years in, I guess I'm still a bit of a noob in many ways. Still constantly learning from reading other people's questions and their answers ;

By the way, chohole, Happy New year! I hope you had wonderful Holidays!

    Love ya Lots!

Thanks Dart,  very quiet,  just me and the cats.  Still finding my way round being on my own.

Hope you and Rosie had a great time.

Cats are awesome :)   I have Miss Celie, a seven year old puppy.

We did have an excellent time - now the kids are all sick, so we're gone babysitting more times than not. I'm really starting to miss Carrara and my computer!
