Gescon Constructive Geometry

DekeDeke Posts: 1,631

So picked this up and look forward to playing with it and merging some geometry. I installed with DIM and using 4.15 Daz Studio. Problem is I can't find the program. One tutorial shows a tab, but I can't find where to activate that window pain. And I can't find a user manual though one is supposed to be part of the package. Any tips on how to get started?

A simple Google search will find the commercial thread on the product. That is a place to start. For example, there is a link to the manual in that thread. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i6lq_lTI84PH_zIoIj0Fhv9AOQpNXovt/view

The Daz online product readme file list tells you the manual is located in /docs/Plugins/Gescon Constructive Solid Geometry/Gescon Constructive Solid Geometry Manual.pdf

Did you enter your serial number ( available in your Daz Account.) The manual tells you how to enter the serial number and how to use the product.

Odd that a forums search did not turn up that thread. And why not have a link to the manual available on the product page?  That should be part of any product. But thanks for the links and I hope they will get me started.

Forum search is pretty useless. Google works much better.

Thanks. That got me started. Had to make sure I was in a 64 bit version of Daz to see the plugin.

The plugin works very well, but one unexpected dissapointment is that all bones are lost in the merging of geometry. So I can't, for example, merge a figure's face onto an object and still be able to control mouth and expressions. All that rigging is apparently lost in the process.

Yes, it sure isn't a perfect system, but it gives us some more capability that we didn't have before in DS.
