Hello;

is it possible to use generation 4 (vintage) characters on Genesis 3 and 8?...

Like old characters for Victoria 4...could they be used on the newest generation characters?...any plugin or some kind of converter?...

 

Or is the only way really by using Victoria 4?...

The GenX line of products can convert from gen4 up to Genesis 3 if you have the base product plus necessary add-ons, and from there you could use either XTransfer or Riversoft's converters to further convert to G8 if desired. I can't speak to how well they work, because a lot can go wrong doing that many conversions between different base figures, but many people swear by them. Be aware that the creator is deceased, so they won't be able to provide updates or support.

Those convertors only handle transfer of the shape of the figure from V4 to G3F/G8F. If you want to use the skin textures as well then you need this Cayman Studios product too.

ETA: That one is for G8F - there is a similar product for G3F but I think that is sold at the Renderosity store, not here.
