Leyton Hair (Looking for Similar Products...)
I picked up ApriYSH's Leyton Hair last year (during MM, if I recall correctly) and it's been great. Medium-length, side part, looks good in renders. But I've reached the point in my character creation process where I'm starting to realize that not everyone can have Leyton's hair, no matter how wonderful it may be. :-) So the search begins!
I've done some scrolling of the store for ideas, but having purchases both good and "meh" hair in the past myself, I'm wondering if anyone has any good recommendations?
Also, I don't want to sound too vague with that request! Some of the things I generally find in what I consider to be "good hair" include: how it looks when rendered; how much space it takes up memory-wise; and how adjustable it is (wind morphs, styling morphs, etc.).

This can be a good choice if you need a mid-long hair that leaves the face free:

I can racommend you outoftouch as hairstylist, hair is a very peculiar subject in 3D, take your time and keep searching and experimenting to find what fits better for your needs.
One hair I find useful and not too heavy on the system is SWAM's 'Seema Hair' https://www.daz3d.com/seema-hair-for-genesis-3-female-s. Works well on G8 and generally looks better than in the promos - https://live.cdn.renderosity.com/gallery/_legacy/images/image_2940858/be8977cfc7b1aeffde03d1950a352036_original.jpg
I also like Robin Hair (again SWAM) here: https://www.daz3d.com/robin-hair-for-genesis-8-females, shown in this image: https://live.cdn.renderosity.com/gallery/_legacy/images/image_3027512/517b17eb90156e02c435439d5b335a0a_original.jpg
Robin hair has similar system load as Seema Hair, but is a little more versatile. Both work well with a -100%X scale (Robin Hair both +100%X and -100%X here all on 3 copies of the same character : https://live.cdn.renderosity.com/gallery/_legacy/images/image_3008384/c47b9c77ded029275e5755aeb1c61a2e_original.jpg )

Hair products are very subjective. You just gotta peruse what's available.

Late to the field, but also consider your computer's ability to handle the different products and are you comfortable with dForce hairs? Some can be quiet demanding on resources.
If you have Ati's plug-in, see if a hair has had any comments and read them. Even if you don't buy right away, you can get a feel for how a PA's hair products are appreciated or not. And also the gallery links on the promo pages. And see if the PA is responsive to issues raised by customers upon release.
Personally I have hairs from Generation 4 on up, and use them whenever they fit the need for the character. Look for sales to stock up on a variety if you are on a budget.
