BTW I posted it yesterday in other thread by mistake
you can use the hair shader also on other surfaces like fabric or feathers etc.. for the semi opaque look
bellow some example , all surfaces no textures just Olympia

Add first color, then SSS then Shine
no SSS for clothing unless you want the semi transparent look as SSS will show the skin bellow the clothing

P.S her limbs are screwed thanks to a pose lol sorry it was just for quick preview ..

Hang on a sec - does this mean that Unshaven 2 includes Iray hair shaders that can be applied to my other existing hair products? (eg female hairs like PixiePerfect or Birthday Girl Hair?).

I was going to mark it down as a future purchase, because I don't really need facial hair right now, but if the hair shaders will work with all my existing hair products then I think I need to get this now.

Awww thanks , someone said the same the other day .. I guess also the scalp hair did well for the total look :)

That why I made him like that , I mixed head of M6 with other too like expressions etc.. and used my old textures from Hunk mega pack for M4 that I use in all my male renders as they are still good enough and better than the standard

I would snap up the Dorian-looking dude from the promos if he were a character product. I know he's probably Michael 6 or someone with some special tweaks and texture enhancements etc, but dayum you've made him look good! Whatever you've done to make him come out that well is definitely worth an investment.

It is very impressive indeed. The first time I saw it I honestly thought you'd just posted a real photo of a male model. I shall be anxiously awaiting your future textures and character product releases.

Your products for the males and Thorne's for the females and I'm in heaven! :)

It works on trans-mapped hair , it remove the textures replaceable with the right color , you can see preview on the product page
the hair need at last 2 layers and the opacity maps need to be set on value 100 , some vendors set on less to make them more transparent what is wrong idea with Iray as it will calculate for ever

There was more info on the page regarding the trans-mapped hair but got lost some way

Just bought this! But can't play until the weekend alas. Noticed there were some products of yours I missed along the way and now have the complete set.... Thanks for all your creative efforts and hard work.

Now, to be completely obnoxious.... When is that iRay skin shader of yours going to hit the store now since the update is official? Your work looks fantastic and we consumers are a demanding bunch.

I must admit I didn't read all the info on the product page - my fault.

Is it easy enough to do? Assuming the hair is transmapped and opacity maps set to 100, is it a fairly simple case of just applying your shaders to the hair surfaces like you would with other Iray shaders? (I'm not very good at DS yet, so I need dummy-proof products :)).

Edit: I just bought it - I think its a definite 'must have' for using Iray. Thanks!

What hair is that on the Unshaven 2 for Genesis 2 males model? Not the facial hair, the head hair on the cover page.

he looks handsome with this soft beard , usually the beard is slightly different in color than the hair beside the hair is black, my brother is blonde and his beard is redish brown , my ex hair was middle blonde and his beard was dark brown mostly only eyebrows match exactly the scalp hair

Thankies much for the tip Cath; I'll remember that when it comes to light hair :cheese:

I don't know if it's a characteristic of black hair, but in the Philippines facial hair (such as it is  ) tends to be black like the hair. That said I'll play around with it; I'm probably going with the African Long beard at 58% in the final render :)

And d'oh! I forgot I had a number of your Gen4 items so I installed them (and got the Hunk Megapack as well) because while I do like G2's HD characteristics for some reason I prefer G4 skins :-P I'm weird like that ;-P

And I think I'll probably start using your shaders for hairs now; I really like the way the Milen hair came out when I used it :P

Thank you, you just select the all hair surface and hit the shader and that is nothing more nothing less
first choice a color then SSS and at the end Shine and you are good to go

It is my custom geometry based hair like unshaven just for the scalp .. I may release set like that soon for the Scalp with some hair styles included but not much due to the size of it .. can blow up your Iray memory if I add too much styles as it use 3 times as much hair as the beard

Straight import of figure, no tweaking done to beard, came in as is.
If nicely done it is because of your work.....

You welcome , the very dark black hair are this way .. 5 layers of cuticles no wonder they are so deep black in color
I use mostly the head of Hiroshi as it fit well genesis 2 male and with different morphs it looks not the same great also to use with Lee

The beards with the purple backgrounds are freeze kinky type of hair actually my favorite as they look so realistic on all characters and light
also the red card hair are in the same texture style but with minder freeze purple and red can be subdivided for very big renders only , I am using 50-53 % fine hair on all my renders and from far away I use the thicker hair tool to speed up the rendering time as you will never see the fine hair anyway unless you go for 10000 samples

Dang. Will the 30% sale be valid through June 1st? I'm down here in waterlogged Houston and my cc is taking a hit replacing stuff that got zapped by a direct lightning strike, so being able to put this on the next billing cycle would be nice.

I think so, but that is controlled by the store not me so I cant be sure 100%

I came to the store looking for something else entirely, and saw this on the front page. I then proceeded to trade some very painstaking art to a friend in exchange for a gift card so I could buy this immediately. :) This is an absolute must-have item in my opinion, excellent work! (I'm also still trying to drum up the money for several of your other products... The lament of a poor man is mine...)
