Reality/Luxrender: No light groups in PureGPU mode.
Hi,
I'm having an issue with light groups when rendering in Luxrender (with Reality 4) in PureGPU mode.
I have 4 mesh lights in the scene. Each of them is in a different light group.
When rendering in No Acceleration and Hybrid GPU modes the light groups translate fine.
In PureGPU mode (luxcore), Luxrender shows the 4 groups. However, all the lights are in the top group and the three other groups are empty (When I switch off the top group the scene gets black, when I fiddle with the other groups nothing happens).
I'm on a Mac Pro with dual FirePro D500 cards.
For some reason light settings seem to only translate when lights are in different groups (is that normal?), so I can't get my scene right when rendering in PureGPU mode.
Is there any way I can edit the Luxrender files so Luxrender recognizes the light groups?
I read some things here but the syntax of the 'code' there seems to be totally different from what Reality exports.
If not, is there any other workaround for this?
Thanks in advance!

There's a very good chance that is where the problem is...
Luxcore is basically still experimental, the Luxrender devs don't recommend using it for 'production' work.
That said, the Lux scene files and what not are just flat, human readable text files that are easily edited. Just try and translate the light info from the Reality produced file to the 'standard' format on the Luxrender wiki.
Thank you for the tip mjc1016. I will try to do that.
I've edited a bunch of Lux files to change things around...about the only thing I don't bother editing are the camera positions. But lights and surfaces...while not often, enough to know that it's not that difficult. The only thing to keep in mind when doing lights is to keep the co-ordinates/positioning info the same.
For something like this, it would probably be just a matter of breaking them up into individual light groups.
