Another 3D Printing vs Carrara thread

DAZ has been making some small measure of hay with their announcement that they'll 3d-print Genesis figures in-house.

Meanwhile: Oh hey, look at that. Dremel has a 3D printer for about $1000.

In fact, Amazon has a whole category for 3D printers.

What luck has anyone had running figures out from Carrara into one of those babies?

The figure on the right looks a bit jagged around the arms, presumably there's some cleanup required after printing. What's the material, and is it easy to paint? Are they solid or hollow? How strong, and what do they cost per figure (ie in terms of material, roughly)?

Sorry it's all questions, but it looks interesting and I know absolutely nothing . . .

    Dear Customer,

Since your region is for AU, and our region is for
USA, please kindly contact your retailer.

    Thank you.

    Best Regards,
    Customer Care (Sheena)
    XYZprinting Inc.
    www.xyzprinting.com

of course there is no Australian Customer service
    it is a software issue
    not the retailers fault

I probably am going to have to hack the firmware on this thing to use it if I cannot get it sorted under warranty because their faulty cartridge chip DRM designed to make you buy their refills is penalizing genuine customers which is very bad.

update I blocked the blighter XYZware.exe on windows firewall new rule outgoing incoming now I can print with my cartridge
it printed a sample model before so was the software falsely blocking the serial number on the cartridge stopping me sending a job to it.

You are not too off from the truth. For Genesis 2 figures, there is a geograft to replace the eyes and mouth of the figure to make it water tight.

It would have to be flush with a thigh, not dangle, or be erect so the filament could build from below as it cannot extrude in mid air without coming out the nozzle all over the place making a mess.
