Okay so I've been having this dilemma for a while now. My Figures in Daz do not have cast shadows. I was wondering if there was anything I can do in order to fix that? Ive never had problems with shadows and lighting in the program other than that. Here is an example of why I am talking about. Thanks in advance!

What program are you using? (including version number)

    Renderer?

    What are your light settings?

    Render settings?

    Duplicate threads merged.

Your shadow softness is very high - you may well be washing the shows out completely except for very close to the item casting the shadow.

Okay But I put the Shadow softness down and it still doesn't fix my cast shadow issue?

Are there any other lights in the scene? If you select the light from the view picker (the button labelled Perspective View) does it have its view of the body blocked by the arm, which looks to be the most likely place for a cast shadow to be visible?

Nope thats the only light I have in the scene, And when I did the light view in the Perspective View it was on the top and it seemed like the cast shadows should be visible

Also, going with anything other than black automatically lightens/softens the shadows..

The differences between each one are...the shadow color changed to what you posted in the screenshot...then the shadow softness set to the same value as in the screenshot.

Also, just for kicks and giggles...post a screenshot of that scene, with the light turned off.

It might also help to have a screenshot of the viewport looking through the light.

What does it look like once you have rendered the scene? Shadows don't show up until you render.
