Extreme Closeup: Thug's Life - Files not there....

RiggswolfeRiggswolfe Posts: 905

I have the same issue with Extraordinary men. Neither product shows in smart content and looking under products in content library I can find them but the "folder" is utterly empty. I did an uninstall and reinstall through DIM without any changes.

Does anyone have a thought on this?

Edit: Checking the install paths, the files are there, they are just not showing through the Daz Studio interface. Deleting and reinstalling metadata also did not fix the issue.

Download the Zip file from the website as a manual download and look inside to see if the files are there. (Depending on how you have DIM configured, it may have the Zip files it used, and you can look inside those as well. I would do both to make sure that something isn't happening during the trip through DIM.) If the Zip file is genuinely empty, you should file a ticket.

As I mentioned in my edit, the files are actually there, it's just that Daz isn't seeing them. Basically the "folder" is empty inside content library and smart content.

It says this on the Product Page:

This product contains only new shapes for Genesis 2 Male, there are no user-facing files.

In other words, there are no files to find, only sliders in the parameters pane with the object they apply to selected.

No, it's a bunch of LIE presets, so it does have files to place. It's not morphs or anything like that.

    It says:

    DAZ Studio Material Presets (.DUF)

If you installed using DIM, please go to the Installed tab, right click, and select 'Show Installed Files', that will show you where to find the presets mentioned above.

I don't have this item myself, maybe someone else can help more. Did it help with the Extraordinary Men problem?

Like I said, the files exist in the folder that DIM installed them to. I can use DIM to find that folder. It just doesn't show in the content library or smart products. In the screenshot below I went to the product library, right clicked and did show in smart products. As you can see, in both cases it just shows...nothing.

And where exactly are the files on your disc?

All of the .duf files are under
/People/Genesis 2 Male/Materials/Extreme Closeup/Thug Life/ in the My Daz 3D Library in the public documents where DIM defaults to.

Clicking the link in the DIM does in fact open that folder and the .duf files are there. However, Daz Studio doesn't see them. I checked both my 4.8 beta and my 4.7 install in case it was an issue with the beta.

Is Studio configured to see the folder the DIM is installing to?

Edit > Preferences > Content Library (F2)> Content Directory Manager....is he My Daz 3D Library mapped as both a Studio format and a Poser format content directory?

Yes it is. It'd be a wee bit difficult to use all the stuff DIM downloads without it. Just to be positive I doublechecked the poser format but it is there. That said, this particular product is from the store here, is for G2, and is in .duf format.

So if in the Content Library you go to DAZ Studio Formats>My DAZ 3D Library>People>Genesis 2 Male>Materials>Extreme Closeup>Thug Life do you see any files?

Hmmm, they are indeed there! I wonder why they don't show in Products or in Smart Content. Could this be some kind of metadata issue? Regardless, I can use them now without having to manually navigate to that folder or something.
