help I am having issues with my gen 2 characters. Both the male and female it appears there is no longer the ability to morph. I had been using Aiko and Vic for months so can't pinpoint when this occurred. I purchased Callie 6 and while the character changes texture nothing else really happens in regard to shape or facial features. The slider will adjust height. I bought a few more characters and get the same thing. All other A3 - A6 Vics etc work fine. There was update for the Gen 2 M&F so I updated but has made no difference at all. I also tried the 'Growing up for Genesis 2 ' As a test ..........Nothing! The only other thing I can add is with my options on the A and V series character Parameters are vast where as Genesis Barely a thing to adjust
Any ideas would be appreciated.

PS I don't seem to be getting any warning/missing file message either

That sounds as if the folder you installed the morphs to, and to which you are reinstalling, is no longer selected as a DAZ Studio content directory so that the Data folder with the morphs is not being found - though for Genesis there should be a fair number of morphs with the base, and that is obviously being found or the figure would load as a stack of boxes. Are you installing manually or using the Install Manager? What is your install folder, and what folders are listed under DAZ Studio Formats in the Content Library?

I am using the install manager I get most (95%) of my content in the Daz store. I first noticed it on an external purchase (renderosity) which I had the 'search hard drive for content' option which I try to contain external downloads in the one folder, although that's fast becoming a dogs breakfast. I don't add it to Daz folders myself manually. It found it okay with the scan and when I tried to load all looks like its doing it but no morph. Tried a few more G2s and get same problem I had assumed it was not finding it too but was of the opinion that if I go buy a V4 Morph++ /5 A3 product Daz or otherwise etc install they are working fine. on the basis Daz would generally place morphs in a morphs folder it has left me puzzled as they must be reading the other character morphs. In turn I would have had to physically remove the G2 morphs. Which I have not done. I will see if I can find the morphs via a search of the C Drive...... After all its a mystery :-)

DIM should, by default, install to My DAZ 3D Library in the Public Documents folder. DS will also set the \DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library folder in your own documents folder as a content directory, and that's usually the best place for third-party content (unless you add another folder for that) - however morphs sets for the fourth generation figures must go to the same base folder as the figures, so they will go in \My DAZ 3D Library. The DAZ 3D folder in your documents folder itself is not a standard content directory.

How does one change folders? I need to do this as well, but I don't understand if it's a matter of moving a folder via Windows explorer, or if I should somehow ...navigate to a folder through the DAZ interface itself? Is there a tutorial about this, and and also about folders in general, or some quick instructions for someone who knows nothing about DAZ folders, at all?

There is no need to 'change' or move folders....

    Simply ADD the folder needed.

F2 (Edit > Preferences) > Content Library > Content Directory Manager > Directory > Add (in both the Daz Studio and Poser formats sections)...then navigate in the Select Folder window that pops up to the folder to add.

Ha, that's interesting - after I'd posted my question, I made it into preferences and content library on my own, but then I still got stuck after that anyway... Thanks for posting your reply with the visuals - I really appreciate it, it's a huge help!

In your Daz install manager choose the "Installation" tab you should see - C:/Users/Public/Documents/My Daz 3D Library listed under "Label > Path" If you don't see this path then chances are its the wrong directory. You should be able to locate the correct folder in your documents folder with the path I have just listed. You can change it if need be inside the Daz Install Manager. Don't forget the all important "My" bit :-)
