Foggy reflections

Can someone assist me? Not sure why my mirror reflections look like the surface is dirty or misted up. How would I get clearer reflections?

I'm using diffuse lighting in this scene, except for the linear point lights. When I change the diffuse lighting to specular, however, it darkens the entire scene.

Thanks in advance for any hints or tips.

Check the diffuse colour of the mirror. You want this to be fairly dark (black ideally). Also be sure to set the specular to white (or close to it) and specular strength up high (90-100%). It all depends how 'perfect' you want your mirror. A little dullness adds realism, but might not be the desired effect.
