Can the grid be made into an object and then changed in color and line thickness?

If possible, I would like to make the grid an object so that I can adjust it, and hopefully adjust it's color and/or thickness as well. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

    Is this in DAZ Studio?

If so, the answer is no. You can show or hide the 'Floor' by using the dropdown menu in the Viewport (toggle Show Floor on and off)

You can change the Viewport colour by going to Window > Style > Customize Colours.

You can make something yourself in a modelling package, and load that in every new scene you create, by hiding the Floor and automatically loading your new floor from Preferences (F2) > Startup > Load File.

Do you mean the wireframe view of a model? Which application are you using?

I'm using DAZ Studio. I was hoping to adjust the attributes of the floor to be a different colored grid, but also I was hoping to make it an object if possible so that I could manipulate it's placement in the scene directly and create multiple planes to more easily place objects in accordance.
