transform move icon, is there a way to relocate?

I've noticed a lot of props I use place the move/scale box that controls the prop/ character too far away from it, when I want a closer view. Is there a way to relocate where this is placed around the prop/character?

DAZ Studio? For a prop you can use the Joint Editor tool to move the centre point - though note that if there are any placement poses moving the centre point wills top them from working. If it's a figure you can move the figure node's centre point, but I wouldn't advise it - better, if you need to adjust locally, to use the root node - the hip on human or the equivalent - which will always move with the figure.
