Using Light Path Expression-LPE...on a per object basis?

While waiting for my 4.8 downloads I noticed the following statement in the DAZ 4.8 documentation:

"The Render Settings pane also now provides access to Light Path Expression - LPE, when NVIDIA Iray is set as the active engine. LPEs allow light contributions in the scene to be isolated, or even on a per object basis, which provides full creative control in post production to achieve the desired look. "

Am I correct in understanding that I can use two Lights(L1 & L2) in a scene with two Figures (F1 & F2 ) and set it up so L1 only provides light and shadow on F1 and L2 to only provides light and shadow on F2?

If that is correct I assume the lights have to be Iray lights.

Just wondering, is there a way to accomplish the above lighting arrangement using DAZ 4.7?

Thanks!

No, this is an Iray-specific feature - it won't work with 3delight even in 4.8

Thanks for the fast response. Glad I didn't miss something in the 4.7 version. I am looking forward to trying this out in 4.8 with Iray lights.
