A while a go I moved poser and its content to a new hardrive (internal hard drive ) then deleted it all from the original C drive.Poser itself worked just fine like this .Ive just been trying DAZ 4.8 and as I always have I am having a great deal of trouble finding anything in DAZ , in fact so far pretty much the only way I can find most stuff is to open up poser 2014 find what I want note where poser says it is and then follow that in the DAZ content browser and that sort of works most of the time .Unfortunately DAZ is also showing lots of stuff from the old poser install which just give me a file missing error message. How can I get rid of these so DAZ no longer looks in the old place for poser files? In the content directory manager I removed all the references to the poser files on the c drive , it now just shows the ones on the new drive.I have enough trouble finding stuff as it is with out a whole lot of orphaned stuff too. I also went to the tab in the content libary and under poser formats removed everything and just added the new location still didnt fix the problem The DAZ smart content also only shows stuff from the old location (which of course isnt there how to make it update to the new location?)Any ideas please?

How are you installing your content, using DAZ Install Manager (DIM)? If so it is a simple matter to find where content has been installed to. You go to the Installed tab, find the item, right click on it, select 'Show installed Files' , and that will show you everything that has been installed for that item, and to where.

All Poser content will be installed by default to the Runtime folder inside your DAZ Studio library folder.

If you have removed the old paths to your Poser content, these libraries should no longer appear inside the Content Library pane, is this not the case?

The DAZ smart content also only shows stuff from the old location (which of course isnt there how to make it update to the new location?)Any ideas please?

Smart Content uses a database sytem, either Valentina/CMS OR PostgreSQL. Do you know which one you are using?

Most stuff I install manually as I mostly use poser pretty much the only stuff I use the DAZ install manager for is that stuff that I have that is for DAZ studio only.I have found how to remove the references to the missing stuff there is an option in the content database management to remove orphaned references thats helped.I dont know what kind of smart content database system im using what ever the default is for studio 4.8 Im guessing , I did finfd turning the service of and back on again found only stuff i had now but no all of it by a long way and not always first time for example Marie HD and up to date character is found by poser in less than 3 seconds yet DAZ studio took 2 goes at about 5 mins each and didnt find it! then on the 3rd try it did .I really dont understand why I have so much trouble finding stuff in DAZ studio I use posers search and it always finds everything quickly with no problems, I use vue 2015 and its search finds things every time so i have no idea what the problem is with DAZ.for me at the moment i end up using poser to find out where the items are and then use the poser tree in side DAZ studio to load them into DAZ studio.
