Version 4.8 Genesis figures not working

I installed ver 4.8 today and everything was working fine.
I was working on a Michael character and after that the Genesis figures were not working and I haven't done changed anything, installed anything, so it is really strange.

Anyone else have this problem?

Not working how? Grey blocks when you load?

Yes, sorry I forgot to say that. Grey blocks :) I am currently reinstalling hoping it will solve the issue

You might just have accidently change to bounding box mode view.
In the preview window, left side of "Perspective view", you can change it.

No, this is what I get:
Some assets needed to load the file were missing. The content may not work as expected. The following files could not be found:
    /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis/Base/Morphs/DAZ 3D/Base/FBMBasicChild.dsf
    /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis/Base/Genesis.dsf

The odd thing is I haven't removed anything and reinstalling didn't help

Do you get an error message for anything else if you try to load it?

EDIT: You reinstalled the Genesis Starter Pack, I assume?

That is the error message I get. Everything was installed from Daz and I get the same message when I try to load male or female. When trying to load Michael now it says the folder is missing

Do you also get the "missing" message if you try to load clothing, or hair?
Do you have your content in the default folders, or did you save it in a different location?

I installed everything from Daz. Things worked and suddenly stopped working.
    Reinstalling didn't solve the issue.
I didn't try to load hair or clothes as it seemed rather pointless given the figures didn't work
Everything was installed in the folders Daz suggested

Well, trying something else, like a prop, would tell me if this is a content-wide problem, or a Genesis problem.
I apologize for not being able to offer instant solutions, but I am not sitting in front of your PC. So the things I would normally do (checking if the Content Database &Dim; installation have the same content path; checking where DIm actually did install the content, run the Database maintenance, and other stuff) I can't do.
That's why I am left to ask all kinds of questions, which might sound stupid or pointless to you - to gather information that might give me a clue about what is actually the problem.

I fully understand why you ask the questions and I apologise if my reply sounded rude, it was not meant that way, but since everything was working and then suddenly doesn't I'm left extremely annoyed (not with you but the application).
I guess I should delete the downloaded packages in install manager and install the 32 bit version instead and then download everything again.
If that doesn't work either I guess I will have to find an older version of Daz.

I will check tonight when I'm home after reinstalling if everything works.

No offense taken. I understand the frustration; I have had a similar problem every once in a while, where content seemed to have gone AWOL.
I don't think that deleting/changing to 32 bit will solve the problem. Like you said, 64 version worked and you were able to load everything just fine.

There's a couple of things more, though Richard Haseltine would have a better knowledge of the topic.

That error is almost always caused by DAZ Studio not being able to find the 'data' folder. That means that you library paths are not set up correctly in Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager.

If you use DIM (DAZ Install Manager) to install content, it is installed by default to C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library and you MUST make sure that this path is entered in the Content Directory manager under BOTH Poser and DAZ Studio Formats. DIM and DAZ Studio do not communicate, so you must make sure that the paths are correctly described.

Uninstalling and re-installing the program will not affect the content in any way.
