New portrait render

Just finished a portrait of a character from a story I've been working on for some time. I wanted it to look like a slightly posed 'formal' portrait that the character might have commissioned for a loved one. I'm going to start working on a similar portrait of her male partner soon... like a matching pair.

Any comments and suggestions for improvements appreciated.

This is Victoria 4 (I know... old school! :) ) rendered in Poser 9 with postwork done in Photoshop.

I like it a lot. I can't tell she is v4 she looks great. I'm torn between suggesting a change of color for the background picture and liking the way it fades into the existing same color background.

Thank you for the reply! You could well be right about the background... I tried a couple of 'warmer' colours as well as this one but they seemed to 'wash out' the quite cool and muted skin tones so I went with the more neutral one. I wonder if it might help if I was to alter the lighting slightly to bring the lighter areas of the background further to (our) left so that there was a lighter tone behind her dark hair... Thank you for the comment!

Maybe a deep and dark mauve or burgundy? Something to contrast with her beautiful hair.

The only thing I could suggest would be to lighten the values of red a bit so that it contrasts with the hairline like the original picture does.
