Where is the "close pane" control?

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

I'm trying to customize my layout and I'm finding double panes and panes I want in the wrong spot. So I right-click the name like before and- the heck? Where is my close pane control?

    If i right-click I got a 'close pane'.

    Maybe try to Windows >  Workspace > Update and Merge menues

    Even though missing in the right clickt menu it is maybe still there in the options menu?

    Window -> Workspace -> Lock Docking/Undocking (CTRL+U).
