Embrace Hair Pak

Can anybody recommend a hair product with the versitallity of the Embrace Hair range?

I have been using this for a few years now as i wanted an add on with long hair and bangs (see attached image).

Obviously this has been updated to suit the Daz version, but i feel that it is starting to "look old" and not fit in with the newer add ons i am using. In particular since using the beta of Iray, the hair detail stands out.

Any advice / suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You mean actual hair models (as opposed to textures)? Hrm, that's a tricky one... I've always just bought my favorites off Daz and Renderosity and have just kind of built up a collection over time. I'm afraid I can't think of a specific "pack", as it were...

.... Wait, just how many hairs are in the Embrace Pak? Is it just two? Three? If so, it's actually not so bad to just buy individual hairs. They tend to run about $14-17 each at full price, but you do get that modern quality, too. :) My favorite hair vendors are SWAM, Nikisatez, AprilYSH and Goldtassel, if it helps, but I may be telling you things you already know. If you AREN'T familiar with them, however, it'd be a good place to start; they tend to feature a lot of variety and high quality for the buck.

Note: SWAM's hair textures feature a sort of "baked in highlight" thing that looked great in 3Delight, but not as much in Iray. If you're using Iray, however, there's a trick: Mec4D recently released a product called Unshaven 2. It comes with a morphing beard for G2M and several shaders for various colors. You can apply this to any HAIR as well, however, by using ctrl + click on the color you're after, then choosing to ignore images. Next, remove the diffuse texture and bam! Instant visual appeal.

I imagine this technique looks a little strange with certain flatter hairs (haven't tried it on such a hair yet), but most of SWAM's hairs have lots of strands, so it hasn't been a problem for me yet. :) Plus, by buying the item these shaders come with, you're also getting a free beard prop that is EXTREMELY versatile. :D (Well you're either getting the beard or the shaders free, depending on what you're buying it for. I bought it for the beard. :D)

.... Wow, I've gotten long winded. I'm starting to sound like a salesman... Sorry about that. I hope something I said was of help, though.

    hi yinliang9
thank you for your response. there are a few suggestions there that i had not looked at, so i will explore those options further.
i have the embrace suite of products , which cover my requirements. i just wondered if there was something newer - specially made for the Genesis range.
perhaps one day soon the embrace range will be updated :)
    thanks again x
