Downloaded and installed Daz 4.8. Have older vid card ( GeForce GTX 550 Ti ). My card doesn't show up at all in the Iray hardware list under the advance tab. My CPU is the only component listed. 3Delight of course works fine but try to render with iray and nothing.

Any suggestions.

Thanks

IRay should still be able to use your CPU to render, I use only the CPU in my PC.

Some of the older nVidia cards don't work with IRay but even so, the CPU should still work. I take it that you are using the 64 bit version of DS4.8, otherwise I don't think IRay is an option?

My GTS 450 shows so your 550 TI should - check your drivers are up to date. What operating system are you running on?

I'm using a 550 Ti and it's very fast with Iray! (when the scene fits into the 1GB, of course)

This is on windows 7 with whatever the latest driver Geforce Experience gave me.

Thanks all for the feedback. I am running the 64bit version of Daz. And last but not least, my system is pretty old as I'm still running Wn. xp. I plan to do a major, major upgrading of both software and hardware within the next year, all things remaining the same (financially). I run a couple other major 3d packages as well. They too are coming to the point where plugins and the like are requiring platform and hardware up take in order to run efficiently.

But hey once again thanks for the feedback.

Ah, Windows XP64 had limited support and another user encountered the same issue - the driver was not able to make the GPU available to DS.
