edited December 1969 in Daz Studio Discussion

Hi.
I just installed daz studio 4.8 and I couldnt find the lip sync anywhere. Is it not a part of Daz Studio anymore or I'm missing something?

It is in 32 bit, unfortunately, it has never been in 64 bit.

And let me guess, there is no such thing as Daz 4.8 32-bit.. So I need to get an older version of it alongside with this 1 ?

There is indeed a 32 bit DAZ Studio 4.8.

It doesn't have Iray but, assuming you have a 64 bit system, you can always use the 32 bit version to set up your animation and save it, then open it in the 64 bit version for additional work and rendering.

In my own DS 4.8 32-bit install, Mimic Pro has been replaced with Mimic Live. Pro is nowhere to be seen. I only just discovered this

Mimic Pro was never part of DAZ Studio. In 32 bit DAZ Studio there should be "LipSync" which is the equivalent to Mimic Lite.

There is a Carrara version for Mimic Pro as well as a stand alone version. The stand alone version is for Poser rigged figures.

Yes, I've discovered the DAZ Lip Sync plugin, and I'm checking it out now. I'm glad to have found it, it's simple but works well. I suspect that sooner or later Mimic will disappear from DS altogether, since MadCap has chosen to walk the subscription path.

  • Daz Studio 4.8 Lip Sync Missing!

Hello everyone! I am new to this conversation but I would like to say that I noticed that this flaw has been around for some time now. I sent a comment to Technical Help to hopfully find a work around or solution to this problem. I had hastly purchased Mimic Live for the lip syncing capabilities without realizing it is meant ONLY for speaking in a microphone for speech activation. I have software for voice creation purposes. I only want to use Daz Studio 4.8 characters to speak using lip syncing capabilities with existing .WAV files. Although Daz Studio 4.8 is a free download, the people at Daz have no obligation to fix this flaw, I understand that! However, once people start buying their products, it makes sense to create a plugin or patch for paying customers. That is just my two cents!

  • As noted above, install both 32 and 64 bit versions, do your lip-syncing in the 32 bit version and transfer to the 64 bit version for rendering (or for whatever steps require the extra memory).

Hopefully in DS 5 we get a decent lipsync solution and not that "use the 32-bit version! You're oficially bonked! Have a nice day!"-answer. angry C'mon DAZ, iClone shows that it's possible. Even Poser has a good tool, but since I prefer DS, it'd be the perfect solution.

Or maybe just give us an update for "Mimic Live".

  • hi guys

so, where is the 4.8 32 bit version? Is it only for windows?

    thanks for this thread

It's complex problem that has to do with licensing and other issues outside the Studio Dev team's control.  If/when there is a different solution, than what is know to work, then it will happen.  Until then, it may be 'clunky', but there is a viable work around...use the 32 bit version.

It should be in your product library or DIM (if you set DIM to download both 32 and 64 bit...it's in the preferences/options).

Installed as part of the 32 bit version of Daz Studio which is included for both Mac and Windows. SO you can get it through Install Manager, as MJC said, by checking the 32 bit software box, or through product library.

  • Hi, guys, I installed fax 32bit because of the lip sync but it’s not working properly, for example, once I click on play the figure will just node his or her head but the mouth and the eye is just static.
