ISO - Compact Mirror

Tried the store search, but didn't find what I need. I'm sure there's one hidden somewhere in one of those bedroom/makeup sets, but I'm not sure where to begin. I'm not picky if this handheld mirror is round or rectangular.

While I'm planning on using it for G8, I don't mind if the prop was made for another generation. Doesn't have to be Iray either, just usable in DS since I don't quite now how to convert .obj's to props.

An obj file is attached of half the compact will need rigging. Is planar tex mapped. Need materials added. Modelled so a second matches up with that one. There are two materials, mirror and body. Size 60mm diameter, each half is 4mm thick.

    Richard

Now you have a chance to get 2 compact mirrors.

Here is a version slightly larger than Richards.

@richardandtracy and @felis Thank you so much. Hopefully, I'll have time today to download both.

I regard mine as seriously unfinished. I had completed my work for the day & knocked it up in the last 12 minutes before going home when it wasn't worth starting any 'real' job. ;) Will probably try to turn it into a prop this weekend.

Having got further with making a prop out of my effort, I need to say "Don't bother with it". The sharpness of the triangles in the mirror prevent proper reflections. I am in the process of re-modelling the mirror surface as quads and I am going to complete the propifying of it while applying materials and rigging too.

@richardandtracy As is, it still works for me. I was planning to use these as sketching references over the weekend. But I appreciate you taking your time to fix it up.

I have it as a functional prop now, and I'm pleased with the decorative bump map for it, too. Couldn't get a normal map to look right with it so resorted to the bump map. Found how to make colour variations on the DAZ Uber anodised aluminium shader, so will include pink, blue and purple colour variations too. But it's time for bed and I have a busy day tomorrow. Regards, Richard.

Just uploaded a 'proper' DAZ prop, materials, & wearable presets  here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/573546/compact-mirror-freebie

    Regards,

    Richard.
