You know I am pretty surprised that we have not had a mertail for genesis yet. Why do you guys think that is?

yeah, i found this strange. Genesis was annouced as the shape shifter.
but there still are no powerful mertails available for genesis
i really would like to see the legs/feet nice morphed into a nice mertail.

Yeah I think a Geo-grafted mertail would have been out already. I think it would have been very cool plus one could have maybe done a naughty mermaid.

    Yay!!!

Where's that big kiss smiley when you need it?

    :cheese:

Oh, any chance that it can be used for mammalian tails as well as piscine?

:) If you have any designs you would like to see in particular now would be the time to link to them ;)

I'm hoping to get close to the mermaids from the recent Fauxumentary that's been causing so much ruckus (Discovery/Animal Planet made a mistake not running the disclaimer that it was speculation until the end) Mermaids: the Body Found (http://animal.discovery.com/tv-shows/other/videos/mermaids.htm)

On a quick scan of a Google images search:

    http://cdn2-b.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/image_content_width/hash/49/e9/1342564463_7713_mermaids.jpg

This one probably has the best silhouette.

This one is a nice view of the mermaids themselves.

    But anything dolphin-y will do:

Gah! Just when I possibly can't recall what's the name of the fish...

It is tropical. It comes in many colors. It has lots and lots and lots of extra fiddly bits sticking out of its bum and spines, and it looks like a veil dancer with weapons when it moves about.

I would love for the tail to have long flowing fins! Is it possible to have webbed fingers to go with the mermaid.

Shoot. I was working on some designs myself for a mertail for Genesis. I will, however, bow to the master.

But I'll still work on some poses... (Insert big grin.)

The other creature shape I'd love to see modernized as a geograft is a long serpentine tail, akin to Creatura Serpenta for V4.

Personally I think there's room for more than one tail - we all have very different styles :)

I second the request for a good serpent tail (like Creatura Serpenta), I would put that to very good use. ;)

Looking forward to one or more mertails, I would be interested in more than one style... : )

I will look forward to seeing a Genesis mertail. Trying to get the Gen4 ones lined up properly is a pain, and if you try fitting them to Genesis you end up with a tail with feet shapes sticking out :-/

You'd get that with the Gen4's too -- IIRC you're supposed to hide the feet and lower legs, there's a transmap preset for that.

Cath (Mec4D) created a mermaid using Genesis in ZBrush so you could go that way with some either conforming or Geografted extras like fins and other aquatic creature things added on.

I did, but maybe it was because I tried it with the 'fit to genesis' setting. I eventually just parented it to the hip and hid the lefs and feet, but the movement isn't as realistic.

Yes! That's the thing! Yes! I would love a mertail like that!

Also, there's this mythological mer-thing that has both legs curving into tails. Pretty freaky.
