rendering to a plain black background
Hi, I just want to render my figure against a plain black background as it is for a simple illustration. I have tried adding a floor and back wall but then I cant find a plain black shader. Am I missing something simple. I tried changing the viewport background to black and that didn't do it.
Sorry after posting this I have found I can set an environment image. You can delete this.

Save the final render as either png or tiff to maintain the alpha channel and you can place over any background you want in any good 2D image/paint program.
For anyone who comes back to this again, a simple solution would be to put a plane to stand up behind the figure and one for the floor, or perhaps a 3 corner shape like part of a room, then just apply a black texture to it. I created a small, black image in paint and used that a few times as the texture.
Unless things have become much more complicated in DAZ recently, a plain black background doesn't need a shader.
You can use the Environment tab to add a background color.
1. Window>Panes (Tabs)>Environment
2. Change Type: Backdrop
3. Click on the Background channel color bar and change the color to black, click OK
... and if one renders to .jpeg the background will be whatever colour the viewport is showing.
