What happened to photometric lights?

When I first started using Iray I downloaded Val Cameron's tutorials which centred on photometric lights. Sure enough, these were present in DS 4.8 Beta and I could use them although I found the whole process conter-intuitive (get rid of skydome, add a camera then turn the headlamp off....add a light that doesn't light anything...etc). However, yesterday I tried to select photometric lights to do some more experimenting and they'd vanished. Huh? Maybe the powers that be also felt that the whole process was counter-intuitive and it's true that the render presets make life much easier, but what happened to the photometric lights?

They are still there. When you add a normal DAZ spotlight to a scene you will find in the Parameters Tab an option to turn on/off Photometric Mode.
Thanks! Found them!
That should also be automatic, as Studio checks which renderer you have chosen and switches on/off the appropriate settings. :-)
Hi Prixat,
Thanks. I think I was fooled because earlier versions of 4.8 Beta had them listed.
Just found this thread and add a vote to keeping the photometric light in the menu or toolbar.
The change has been made...the way it is now is the way it has been decided to be. In other words, the 'folding' the light properties all into one and making them context sensitive is the way forward.
Thanks for the explanation. I made the mistake of watching several tutorials (obviously with the Beta 4.8 version) which show the photometric lights in the Create menu.
