Problem with pointlight

I need to get rid of the white light in the middle of the point light. the color is set at the orange around the white seen in the attachment, but I am trying to simulate a very small fire in another render. This render is just for the question, but is indentical. Is there something I can do to get rid of it? The point light is 1/2 way embedded in the rock and disappears if I try to move it any farther. Thank you for any help.

3Delight. I have several nodes of Garibaldi hair which do not render in Iray.

Your image doesn't really show what the problem is to be honest. I have just tested both point lights and I don't see what you show. Which Point light are you using exactly?

What is your gamma setting? Without gamma set to a higher value (1.8 or more likely 2.2) and Gamma Correction set to on it is very hard to get a useful light from standard point lights without burning out the area near the source. If for some reason you don't want to colour correct try using a Linear Point light instead, which is less real but more controllable.
