Maps: Oppacity, Diffuse, Specular

I'm making a new texture for the V4 bodysuit.
I'm building up the diffuse map and the opacity map and those are going fine.
I tried to start a specular map, but it wound up applying to the whole suit, rather than the parts made visible on the opacity.
The only areas with the ..specular texture was what was on the diffuse...
I tried it surround by black and white and transparency. I've tried an entire map of the specular texture.
Does the specular map work differently than the others? Does it ignore the opacity map?
(I'm trying to just have specular effects on the solid black area).

Try turning Specular through Opacity to OFF.
I'm seeing no difference between on and off :(
Hmm...I might have the specular going backwards....
The first pic is with my diffuse map on.
The second is with it removed...and the second has the specular on the black patches.
(the white is the opacity, the black is the diffuse)
You are putting the Specular map in Specular Strength, not Color, right? And you've got the Strength at x%???

I hadn't been...but trying that and still no go.
Ok.. got it.
I had to loose some of the ability to customize it, as I wanted to be able to change the colors of the whole outfit, but I've gotten the specular working how I want it.
I don't suppose there's a way to add a second diffuse channel, is there?
In Shader Mixer...
See this and the other linked versions, in the description.

Similar can be done for Iray, too (in ShaderMixer, but haven't had the chance to figure out exactly how...)
