Hello, I have a regular computer with 500GB of HD space, I am running out of room for my computer to even function.
Doing some searching for files I can transfer to my backup or delete I came across 70GB of Compo files associated with daz going back a number of years.
My question is since I have upgraded to 4.8 how relevant is it to keep all this information which is considered tmp. files anyways on my computer, why would DAZ need 70GB of operating space???
I need this space back, please help:)!

Compo files? What are they? If you mean content files, then yes - between geometry and textures the data defining figures and clothes and their surfaces can eat up a lot of disc space. Is the content stuff you use (scene files generally store only a pointer to the files on disc, they don't embed the data, so you would want the content if it was in a scene you might want to reopen). You can move content to an external or secondary hard drive if you like - indeed I'd recommend keeping all content and documents on a drive other than the boot, as protection against loss if you ever need to reinstall the OS.

Aren't .compo files a Carrara file?

Maybe ask in the Carrara subforum or one of the regular Carrara users will spot this and comment?

They are associated with Daz 3d and carrara, perhaps they are just carrara, thanks!
