Importing objects (props) from 3DS Max, with textures

Okay, I've done some searching but haven't yet found the exact answer for how to do this:
I have modeled a prop (helmet) in 3DS Max and would like to export it / import into Daz3D. I am successfully able to do this via FBX, however I cannot get the textures to work properly
I have a diffuse map texture file / UV, and when I try export it either doesn't come along in the FBX, or if I choose "Embed Media", it is there, but the colors are off; any thoughts? What is the proper workflow/settings to easily include a material with diffuse bitmap...
