Iray uses your CPU only, unless you have a suitable nVidia card, it does NOT use other makes of graphics cards at all, sorry.

I have an i7 chip, and I find Iray fairly useful, I also have an nvidia card, but it is old, and I don;t use it at all.

Hi Jimmy, thank you for your answer... ok I'll have to change my old pc... in how many time do you render with iray with your i7 chip?

I just tried the basic G3F, with Basic Wear and Toulouse Hair, with an HDRI image.

The image below was rendered in 1 min 50 seconds on my PC uisng only the CPU.   If I did a close up, or a larger image, it would obviously take much longer, but I am fairly pleased with what it does.   I am looking at buying a better nVidia card, but not a really expensive one.

You could try that Scene out yourself, the HDRI images are free from http://noemotionhdrs.net/hdrnight.html just add the image and use the 'Draw Dome' to 'On' to see the result.   I find these HDRIs render very fast.
