IES profiles
To go along with my list of free HDRI resources, here is a list of another lighting resource that is usable by Iray, Luxrender and others (not 3Delight, though). This is a list of some, but by no means a complete one, of IES profiles.
IES profiles are real world data about almost every lighting bulb or fixture around. They are typically used by lighting designers to plan how to light a room/building/landscape. Used in a renderer capable of understanding them, they provide an easy way to set lights with real world parameters. IES data can provide things like the shape of the beam, falloff, color temperature and other data.
The one problem with them...there are too many of them!
Every manufacturer has them. Some in the thousands to tens of thousands.
So, I'll start off with a couple of 'easy' ones.
This set is compiled to be 'artist friendly'

This set from Evermotion (requires registration) not only includes IES profiles, but also includes the meshes for the lights they are for...

Here are some large catalogs from major manufacturers.

A site that provides 'bare bulb' profiles from multiple manufacters, for many bulbs, mostly LED, CFL and other energay saving types
http://www.olino.org/advice/us/overview/results?fitting=E27&lamptype=bulb_all_around (there are some very interesting bulbs, here).
Some tools and viewers.
http://www.photometricviewer.com/ (a viewer)
http://www.cooperindustries.com/content/public/en/lighting/resources/design_center_tools/photometric_tool_box.html (many features, including a bunch of IES files)
http://www.tom-schuelke.com/ies-gen3.exe (direct link to download, viewer and generator...make your own IES lights)
The manufacturer sites usually have a viewer, also.
http://www.helios32.com/resources.htm (scroll down to find eulumcnv.exe...a converter from eulum (European format) to IES format).
https://sourceforge.net/projects/qlumedit/?source=typ_redirect (Another converter...this one may work better as I couldn't get the other one to work on a 64 bit OS)
Esemy has come up with a script to create presets to load IES profiles for Iray.

Thank you - great list
Here a preview for Ai Photometric Light (Surface with emission profile)
I hate to necro, but I've found this post very useful, and have tracked down the now-defunct links in OP in case anyone else finds use of this. The archived links have working resources, all the ZIPs and PDFs all seem to be in order and available.
