Wonky Teeth

The 'Mouth Realism 8.1 HD' morph makes some of my characters' teeth turn in, does anybody know why this happens?

The attached image is an 8.1 character, I've not dialled in any additional morphs, it's literally just the vendor's character morph at 100%, the character's HD morphs that came with it, and Mouth Realism + Navel morphs which loaded with the character by default.

  • This may very well be a problem with the character. I found this problem also with TMA Andrea
When the head morph is activated the teeth get distorted. Even more when also Mouth Realism 8.1 is activated.

I opened a ticket in the help center on May 31, 2022

I got the message from support that they could reproduce it on their end and am waiting for a resolution ever since...

Thank you, at least I know it's not something I've broken then

  • Did this ever get fixed?

    Looking to purchase her.

Strange that she's still live on the store if it hasn't been remedied.

Sadly, no. And the Vendor is M.I.A

Have you tried turning Mouth Realism down to a negative value (you may have to go into the settings of the dial and set its lower limiit to -100 or -300 or whatever) to see if that evens the teeth out? Because Mouth Realism is at 100% by default, I've noticed it sometimes gets accidentally baked into other morphs. If the morph creator reexports their morphed character for more modifications, it can even be baked in multiple times. Turning the dial down to -100 or even -200 on your character can offset this.

  • Enable showing hidden properties and see if mouth realisim or other mouth/teeth morphs are also being applied again behind the scenes. As someone that recently learned how to make characters, this happens to me when I forget to zero out any teeth/mouth morphs before exporting to create my own character morph. You can also try to clear the teeth from the current morph with these steps (I forget who originally wrote this, I just saved it as a text doc so I could reference it):

The other way is to eliminate changes only from the teeth (deltas of the morphs)
For advanced users, the deltas(vertex difference) of certain areas can be eliminated, and it is:

    1. Add the morph(imported) to favorites (heart) from the parameters tab.
    2. Open the Geometry editor. select Vertex (faces, edges, vertex).
    3. Right click on viewport, Geometry Selection, Select By, Surfaces, Teeth
    4. Right click on viewport, Morph Editing, Clear Selected Deltas from favorites.

I never saw an update. The package date in DIM is still form the original release date back in January 2022. And there is no update show. Never heard from support after they acknowledged the problem.

Unfortunately this does not fix the problem.

  • Just started DIM and noticed there was an update available for that figure. But it appears that it only fixed the meta data. Teeth are still bad.
