Milennium dog bump maps

Where are the bump maps for the various breeds of Mil Dog? When I load the dalmatian MAT for example, the bump channel is empty.

Thanks

Theere are a few bump maps for some of the breeds, but this is a very old product.   You will probably have to make your own, or look in some of the texture bundles to see if there are any packs that contain bump.   I think these products come from about 2004.

Apply the default Red Doberman texture first, that'll bring the bump map — which is there — to the attention of D|S. Then apply the dalamatian MAT-MOR, go into the Surfaces tab, select the Coat material and manually apply the Doberman bump map, which should be there in the little drop-down menu.

Don't forget to adjust the bump values; most dogs have fur more than a fraction of a tenth of a millimetre long...

Yes, this is one of the very, very old sets, made entirely for Poser (which isn't helping), so a lot of things are very weird and inconsistent by modern standards. Almost all of them can be made to work with a little manual tweaking and knowledge of where to find the weirdnesses, though.

a noise shader in the displacement channel of the fur works well too, you can alternatively use one of the displacement fur shader products in store, may need adjusting of parameters for iray.

subdivision may be needed depending on how fluffy you want your woofers

And here's a test render I just ran off with quick-and-dirty Iray materials conversion. Looks quite nice, actually, with the default Iray bump value of 1.
