How To Keep Clothing Parts Rigid

The good news is that I've made excellent progress in rigging and preparing my clothing freebies, and am now a few steps away from releasing my very first one.

So of course, this is where the ground has fallen out from under me. The costume I'm working on has a series of spikes attached to it, and unfortunately, those spikes tend to morph and become deformed when the figure this set of conforming clothes is changed into a different shape. I don't want that to happen, but save for making the spikes solid objects and parenting them to the clothing, I have no idea how to keep them rigid. Does anybody have any idea how I can address this issue? I would really appreciate some advice.

Rigidity groups/mapping would be the way to go with something like spikes.

I did a quick test run on one of the tutorials, and it looks like this will do the job! Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction!

You're welcome.  I need to go through them, again, myself, because it's been too long since I tried anything and the boots I'm working on will need it.
