Hi,

I'm hoping someone can explain what the buddy lists are? I just discovered them while updating my avatar...

Is there a protocol we are supposed to follow if we add someone to the list?

    I had not noticed this and would also like to know what it's for and how to use it.

    I haven't played with it so I'm unsure what it's suppose to do.

    Funny enough, I just went to look and see about it and I can't find it now. I know it was there

    I am glad I am not the only one who can't find this list. I was going to add Buddy Holley, Buddy Greco, Buddy Rich

    When we saw it and didn't know what it was, we were curious. Now that it's gone we WANT it!

    I found it under Private Messages, so I'm guessing it has something to do with that.

    What, I have no clue.

    Ah that's where it is hiding.

    I tried adding Buddy Holly, Buddy Rich and Buddy Greco and it said no such members

    Well the first two, alas, are no longer with us. Buddy Greco is getting on in years but is still around as far as I know. Probably uses a pseud online.

    Buddy lists in Expression Engine are for allowing you to mark people that you PM often so that you don't have to fumble around to find their current screen name. It really only helps if people change their screen names often.

    Thanks Kendall...that helps. Do you need acceptance/agreement from the person being the buddy or can you add whoever you like?
