The same problem....

The same problem I was having with my G2F I am now having with my G2M. I havent done anything different. All the clothes and skins, etc that I have turn into boxes when I put them on the stage with the male. I am so frustrated with this program. It may be free, but it does come with a price...and that is your sanity!

None of my g2m clothes can be found. If the program can find the g2f clothes, etc, why cant it find the male clothes?

The 'boxes'  effect is almost always caused by the content not being properly installed, and DAZ Studio cannot find the 'data' folder.

How did you install the content, using DIM (DAZ Install Manager) or manually?   How did you fix it with G2F?

  • DIM apparantly must have placed everything in the wrong folder. I dont really remember how I fixd it with the g2f because I came here for the help. It is looking for the dta folder(s). How do you find them...or at least tell DS to find them?

DIM installs content into the folder that you have it set to install to, by default, that is C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library.   If you want your content installed to another folder, then you have to tell DIM where you want it installed to by adding that path in DIM by clicking the 'Gear' icon at the top right of the interface, and selecting 'Installation' and adding the path to your content folder using the '+' icon at the bottom of the tab.

If you installed G2M using DIM, then you can go to the installed tab, select G2M, right click, and Show Installed Files will tell you where it has been installed to.   If it is not installed to the correct path (the one that you want it installed to), create the new path, then uninstall, select the new path and reinstall.   It only takes a few minutes to do that..

Any path that you install content to, must be listed in Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Mnaager under BOTH DAZ Studio AND Poser Formats.

Where is DIM set to isntall to (gear icon at top-right, Installation tab)? What are your selected content directories in DAZ Studio (Edit>Preferences>Content Library tab>Content Directory Manager, expand Current>DAZ Studio Formats)?
