Better Hair

Excuse me if I speak my mind frankly: I would like to see hair that doesn't look as if the haircut was home-made or at least very, very cheap. In many cases the margins (don't know if this is the right expression, but I hope you know what I mean) have too much opacity, so that the hair looks 'moth-eaten'. For some time past I see only this 'style' here at DAZ. So please, give us better hair (and clothes for G3 that don't correspond with those 'unkempt/untidy' hairstyles)!

Can you provide some examples of 3d hair that you want to see at DAZ?  Don't give me photographs of actual hair, that won't help.  Show some examples of 3d hair that looks the way you want.

@Slosh:  I hope you understand if I don't mention names, but you don't have to go far to see what I mean. Almost everything in the DAZ shops is nicely done, but in the last few months it seems to become a fashion to make hair look the way I described above. Almost all of G3F hair has this style. Maybe it is really a fashion, but - well, I just don't like it, and I may be not the only one.

I'm not a designer but I imagine hair would be the hardest thing for modellers to create realistically in cg, given the technology we have (there's an interesting featurette on the 'Brave' animated movie where Disney modellers talk about this very problem).  However I've seen some awesome hair products recently, but if these are not to your liking perhaps you might try a 2D approach?  There are photoshop hair 'brushes' you can use to paint the hair on, or, there are complete hair styles that can be applied to your renders for an instant result.

So, what I'm getting from that is that you don't hair that looks like this:

So, then what type of hair do you prefer? What do you mean by "nicely done" in this sense? That's subjective to taste and doesn't really help. For example, I agree that I'm not a fan of these particular types of hair for reasons identical to yours. Instead I'm a huge fan of artist styles like that of Valea for it's more solid and dense looks and vibrant coloring:

Personally, I wouldn't mind hairstlyes that are more "buisness world appropriate" if that makes sense. Especially for the Genesis 2 Male model. There are plenty of fashionable hairstyle for long and short male hair that would be more appropriate in the buisness world that you just don't see in the Daz market. There's nothing wrong with the quality of the hair available. It's just sometimes you need "regular" hair. It doesn't always have to be either post-apocalyptic, super-masculine, macho warrior hair or Derek Zoolander, super-model, high-fashion hair. It'd be nice if there were some choices in-between, for the most part...

For me, it would be very desireable. For both male and female, but mostly for male figures.

Some things I'd like to see in Hair:
    a) receeding hair styles all the way to bald on top.
    b) thinning hair styles
    c) more hair which either has or when morphed reveals a widows peak
    d) hair with an adjustable HIDE feature or adjustable lay flat on skull so when a hat is added the hair under the hat does not poke thru.
What I do not like or purchase, on purpose, is hair that shows an undesireable bendt look, Hair that makes a 90 degree turn.

I'm sure that some of the things I mentioned are available at DAZ or elsewhere. While I use the "hair" designer in Carrara and LAMH for DS it's much quicker to grab Hair that a PA has made, they are the true artists and I bow to their work.

I understand and know what you mean. Some (not all) hairstyles for G3F and also for other Genesis figures are looking not "real" means the style is to much fantasy style or (my opinion) much to voluminous. I would like to see also simple hairstyles like I have used for my Dixie-renders for example (Ali Hair 083) for example.

Most of the time I use hair made for V4 and parent them to the head of G3F because some of the hairstyles look much better than these new ones.

Noticed http://www.daz3d.com/curt-hairstyle that would take care of bald on top only from my earlier list. Note that it's for Michael 1 and 2, it will cost a bit to try on any Genesis (1, 2 or 3) figures.
