You beat me to it Wendy!!!! But I didn't convert anything, loaded it all right out of the box
I cannot get the eyes to work
the other bits converted and saved as character presets do
Expressions ?
all morphs seem to work
I will look into eyes later, I need to cook my dinner
Eyes, Eyebrows & Eyelashes appear to have problems.
I saved each as a character preset separately, they fit to it in Carrara and make sure not parented
the eyes just won't load converted but I guess one could parent those unconverted if needed
Disappointing about the eyes, but more successful than I thought it would be. This is promising.
Eyes and eyelashes saved as presets and loaded.
mmm eyes work for you
did you save as character preset or something else?
did you convert to blended weight first?
Workflow for the eyes:-
Unparented from Genesis 9
Converted to Blended weight.
Saved as a Character Preset.
Forgot the Eyebrows in my previous render.
mmm wonder why mine fail to import, shall try my other computer Win10, was my Win 7
same thing i/0 error
maybe upload your eye duf (it's just a character preset so OK)
If only Carrara could be provided with updated FBX import/export - maybe that would fix things. Seems to be the default transfer method these days.
Here you go, was for the female morph applied to one - also shaders need some work to get to operate okay.
We want Carrara 9 !!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess that's why Daz sent me a 'we miss you' email today!
works
I wonder why mine doesn't though, 2 computers, 2 installs, 2 libraries
mmm D|S4.21?
me too
think everyone got one
Good to hear that it works for you !!!
Am running DAZ Studio 4.10
AHa
that could be the secret sauce, I have 4.11 on my Win7 but used the 4.21 beta
same error basic wear but autofitted stuffs saved as support assets work
and grew a nice mane of dynamic hair on him (simulated animation ) Mimic plugin works with 8.1 configuration dmc too!
I got one too, and then they closed my the thread I started on G9.
I think I was a tad faster, sorry, really they should have merged them but not doing that in the other forums either
If I had seen your thead I certainly would have posted in it rather than starting a new one we may have crossposted, no timestamps, I did repjy to yours when I saw it

Eyes - error then success
I got the same error as Wendy when I tried to convert eyes that had loaded with the Genesis 9 default load. I was able to convert and use eyes that I loaded separately from the anatomy folder.
The error I got from the default load looks like the below.
My successful eye conversion was loaded in Daz Studio without the G9 figure. I found the eyes in the anatomy folder.
The independently converted eyes load in Carrara for me without error and then fit to, follow, and morph with the head.
Basic Wear TShirt - Error
I tried converting the TShirt from Daz Original Basic Wear. Got an input error. Still have not solved the TShirt error.
I did notice the things that error get the dialogue in D|S that they are already blended weight
I created my own simple TShirt and used the transfer utility to make it conforming for base G9. Converted it to blended in Daz Studio. During the conversion in Daz Studio I was given the warning that a blend map already existed but I just ignored it and did not replace. I saved as a character preset. Opened the blended TShirt in Carrara. Conformed to a G9 base figure that was blended and saved to character preset. The TShirt does conform to the G9. The TShirt does morph when the G9 morph dials are changed (eg., base male or base female). The TShirt follows when the G9 limbs are rotated.
Very promising.
Simple TShirt Freebie for Genesis 9 Base
See zip attached. Let me know if this works. Note - it is just the TShirt for G9. You will have to convert it to blended and save as a character preset to use in Carrara. Let me know if there are any problems, such as bad data file mapping. No shaders but the collar and sleeves are separate shading domains.
Repetition. Simple dress by extending mesh of the TShirt.
Same workflow. Import to Studio, transfer utility to support asset conforming figure, convert to blended, save as character asset,
Note - when I tried to use Studio's template for dress in the transfer utility it caused Studio to crash. Not a Carrara issue though. Transfer utility worked fine not using any template.
nice to see things are happening with G9
I also had trouble with the Tee but didn't bother to look any further... the Male poses folder was enough for me after controlling my laughter at the lame attempt of just filling the folder with what they filled it with.
ok.. loaded up with a G9 masculine pose supplied by Daz
thanks for the eye tips... loading from the anatomy did the trick..
