Hiding body or outfit parts

How can i make bodyparts (like hands) or parts from an outfit invisible (hiding it) in DAZ Studio?

Try clicking the eye next to the bone in the Scene pane, or the Visible button in the Parameters pane. That does depend on the item having groups assigned to the bones, most content from the DAZ store will but it isn't a functional necessity so you may find items that don't.

If the eyeball icon in the scene pane doesn't cover the exact portion(s) you wish to hide, you can also select a surface and go into the Surfaces pane and set the opacity to 0%, which will make it invisible.

If you want part of a surface invisible, but not all of it, you can select individual polygons and create your own new surface, then set that new surface invisible, although this takes a lot more work: To select individual polygons and create a new surface: Tools > "Geometry  Editor".  In the viewport, click on one poly to select it then hold Ctrl down and select any other polygons you want (or optionally you can select with a rectangle). To remove a polygon from a group of selected polygons, ALT key and Left Mouse. Right click and choose Geometry Assignment > Create Surface from Selected. (you can also TEMPORARILY hide polygons here with "Polygon Visibility" > "Hide selected", but this isn't saved with the scene.) Give the new surface a name. You will then see a new material zone in the "Surfaces (color)" pane. You can set it to 0% opacity to make it permanently hidden.

Thanks, the tip with opacity worked (with the 3Delight render, but with iray it is visible again).
