"Volumes" in Iray?
I'm trying out Iray a little, coming from working mostly with Lux via the Reality plugin.
One of the features of Reality/Lux that I got a lot out mileage out of was the use of volumes once I figured out how they worked. I could make a scene look foggy/dusty, create different sorts of transparent objects, plastics, gems, teeth, etc. For anyone unfamiliar with it, you'd essentially set up some parameters for a volume like how dense it is, what color it is, etc. then tell Lux which objects are full of that volume. This made it so that the appearance of something wasn't just determined by the surface of an object but what it's "made out of" if that surface isn't completely opaque.
I've been looking around for info on this in Iray, and I can't seem to find anything. I'd be surprised if it weren't there in some form, but it probably uses all different terms and parameters so I have no idea where to start looking. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also, sorry if this has been asked and answered - I did a search without any luck.

There's been some discussion of it in the 'Show us your Iray Renders' thread. I believe it was thread #2, but I 'm not sure exactly where. If you search for posts by 'timmins.williams' you should find it. He did quite a few experiments with fog and volume.

Hey, that looks pretty cool. I will definitely have to check that out, thanks :)
And..er.. sorry about the username, heh.
RawArt has a simple volume setup for Iray.
