Rigidity and Weight Maps on V4 Stuff

So I'm fitting a V4 shirt to G2F, which is generally no problem with the auto-fit tool, but I just discovered the concept of rigidity grouping so I'm trying it out in order to keep things like buttons in their original round shapes instead of having them turn into blobs which I must then either hide, edit in some other software, or ignore.

I followed the steps on this page (http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/creating_content/rigging/tutorials/rigidity/start) until the "Create Rigidity Map" section, where the Weight Map Tool (I assume that's "Node Weight Map Brush" in 4.8?) gave me the message "The Node Weight Map Brush cannot be used to modify the selected figure. To use this tool you must convert the selected figure to use weight maps or select a figure that already does."

The only way I've come up with to cheat here is to make a new G2F figure, dial her to V4, and fit the shirt to that figure, giving it as few distortions as possible, then to start the whole process from there and then fit it to the first G2F figure. But that seems kind of.. convoluted (and I haven't actually tried it yet beyond verifying that the the Node Weight Map Brush doesn't give me the error message anymore once the shirt is fitted to a genesis figure). Is there is an easier way to "convert the selected figure to use weight maps?"

What are you hoping to do? Rigidity Maps affect morphs auto-generated by DS, they don't affect posing or the mesh modification during AutoFit.

Oh, well nevermind then. I'll just make them invisible and add little button objects separately. Thanks.
