cannot create animation with ransparent background

[cannot create animation with ransparent background] That's it. Tried removing the background. I don't even know if I did that. Please help a frustrated newbie. Thank you.

Don't render directly to an .avi/.mov file, render to an image sequence and set the fromat to PNG or Tiff - any areas that don't contain models will then be transparent or have an alpha channel (assuming you don't have Draw Dome on) and you can assemble the images into a video using many applications. Rendering to Iamge Sequence has many advantages, not least being able to do the job in chunks rather than in a single operation.
