Proper Exporting Scenes and Characters

Hello,
I very new to DAZ3D and would like to know how do I properly export my characters and scences to VUE 9. When I attempted the collada format it brought everything as silver almost transparent even after I reduced the material reflection to zero. When I tried obj it brought everything as grey. What step am I missing?​
