Iray Cancel & Resume

Hello, I have started what looks like a very long render and I would be grateful for some info about cancel & resume.

Is there anything that I will adversely affect the render during the period before resuming and therefore should be avoided?

Thanks

As far as I understood it, DS stores a temporary file of your render when you hit "cancel", and picks it up again when you resume the image.

In my experience, only changing the render settings (tonemapping, etc) has an effect on the image, but then, I haven't really tried any majoy changes.

It would probably be best if you set up a test render, try what you intend to do, and then see if it influences your render result.

    Thanks.

I wonder if the whole render settings will not affect the current render, that would make sense.

Note that D|S temp files are exactly what it says on the tin — temporary. They're automatically saved into a folder that's wiped clean when you exit D|S, so this isn't a useful option if you need to shut down the program, or shut down your whole computer.
